In our first ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT (June 2024), Father Lacombe High School theatre tech students gathered in their theatre with teacher Catherine Courage to speak across the pond with class of 2014 Bishop Carroll HS alumni Madison Lymer of Sonia Friedman Productions.  The students had the opportunity to ask questions about education paths and employment prospects in the theatre world beyond acting.

Madison pursued her BA (honours) in International and Global studies at Queen’s University (class of ’18) and went on to Goldsmiths, University of London (UK) obtaining her Master (honours – class of ’20).  Throughout her career she has progressed through various theatre and arts organizations, both in Canada and overseas and is now the International Sales and Revenue Director for Sonia Friedman Productions – an international production company responsible for some of the most successful theatre productions in London and New York.

Giving back through alumni mentorship is a meaningful way to give back by guiding high school students with real-world insights and encouragement, helping them succeed. It strengthens community bonds and inspires the next generation to achieve their potential.

We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani (“Pee-gunee”), and Kainai (“Gay-nah”) Nations; we also acknowledge the territory of Treaty Seven, which is also home to the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley, and the Métis Nation, and all the people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries. We respect and affirm the inherent and treaty rights of Indigenous people, and we recognize the contributions of the Métis, Inuit, and all Indigenous peoples have and continue to make in shaping and strengthening our community and country.
